Worthing Borough Council Celebrates Achieving Park Mark & Park Access
The site demonstrates not just high safety standards, but a real commitment to accessibility
We’re pleased to share that the recently-opened Civic Quarter multi-storey car park in Worthing has received national recognition for its accessibility and safety features.
The new multi-storey car park, built as part of the Worthing Integrated Care Centre project, has been awarded Park Access and Park Mark accreditation, making it an industry-standard facility that excels in inclusivity.
The awards are judged by the British Parking Association, a not-for-profit organisation which works to create better parking and travel experiences for all.
Worthing Borough Council opened the car park last December, which was constructed as part of the development of the town’s new integrated care centre, which is bringing together GP surgeries, mental health provision, community care and a pharmacy onto one site.
The facility has been awarded Park Access accreditation for its accessible facilities and inclusive parking. It hosts nine indoor and eight outdoor disabled spaces and we will be installing 34 electric vehicle charge points, some of which will be specially adapted for drivers with disabilities. There are more than 170 spaces in total, some of which are dedicated to NHS staff.
It has also received the Park Mark award as part of the Safer Parking Scheme, meaning it meets police requirements that deter criminal activity and antisocial behaviour.
Vehicles enter the car park from Richmond Road and exit via Stoke Abbott Road. Our standard parking charges apply at the site, with customers paying on arrival.
Warren Bradshaw – BPA Area Manager said “It has been a great pleasure for me to have worked with Worthing Borough Council in achieving the Park Mark and Park Access accreditations for their Civic Quarter Multi-Storey Car Park in Worthing’’.
