The Centre: MK achieves the coveted Park Mark Plus Award

Multi Storey Car Park has demonstrated the highest standards across its operations.

Park Mark Plus is a comprehensive assessment demonstrating the highest quality of today's modern car parks in services, operations, design and build.  Building on the well-regarded Safer Parking Scheme’s Park Mark award, Park Mark Plus recognises only the highest quality car parks.

Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme, which is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association.  Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

The award of Park Mark Plus demonstrates that a facility provides police-approved accredited parking, and has reached the standards of the Disabled Parking Accreditation and a range of environmental, structural, operational and customer services criteria. Car parks must demonstrate a wide range of responsibilities to achieve the award and the Centre: MK  MSCP has several systems in place including help points, high-efficiency LED lighting and a smart lighting control system throughout, meaning the MSCP is designed to be as energy-efficient in operation as possible and contributing to the Safer Parking Scheme standard.

Kevin Duffy, Centre: MK’s Centre Director, commented: “We are delighted to have achieved the Safer Parking Scheme's Park Mark Plus Award, the highest certification of its kind. Working together with Anchor to achieve this latest accolade has been highly rewarding as it recognises Centre: MK’s commitment to its community, environment, and customer experience. Through our continued investment, we remain dedicated to creating an enhanced experience starting from the moment visitors leave their homes. Our smart technology, multi-storey car park, and its accessibility and green credentials play a vital role in this.”

Antony Powell, BPA Area Manager, said: "Many congratulations to the Centre: MK and Anchor Group Services in gaining Park Mark Plus accreditation for the Centre: MK`s multi-storey car park. The award is thoroughly deserved and everyone involved in the design, construction, management and operation of this excellent facility should be proud of their achievement”
