Ringing endorsement! Parking approval for The Chimes with top parking accreditation

The Chimes has been accredited with the Park Mark Plus award for their shopping centre car park

Customer expectations for well-managed, high-quality car parks are exerting demand on the sector to deliver excellent services and enhanced customer experience whilst caring for the environment.  Technology is also playing a growing role in delivering a seamless and efficient customer experience.

Building on the well-regarded Safer Parking Scheme’s Park Mark award, Park Mark Plus recognises only the highest quality car parks.  The award assesses a range of criteria from services and operations to design and build. To qualify for the award, the car park must meet Park Mark and Disability Parking Accreditation (DPA) criteria as a minimum.

The Chimes currently holds the police-accredited Park Mark® award ensuring safer parking for customers. The car park provides over 1,550 parking spaces including disabled, parent & child spaces and EV charging points available over six levels. Customer expectations are continuing to grow for a well-managed, seamless car park experience whilst providing environmentally sustainable parking solutions, a key focus for this award. To achieve the Park Mark Plus award, car parks must also demonstrate a wide range of responsibilities including:

  • Low crime and measures to ensure the safety of people and vehicles
  • Meet Disabled Parking Accreditation criteria for disabled parking bays
  • Structural integrity
  • Environmental credentials
  • Good management and operations
  • Exemplary customer experience

These additional criteria are assessed and scored, and the Chimes obtained the necessary pass with a combined score to achieve Park Mark Plus.

Mark Cookson, Centre Manager said: "To be awarded Park Mark Plus is a fantastic accolade for The Chimes Shopping Centre, recognising the site's exceptional standards and commitment to ensuring the safety of our guests and their vehicles. To be one of only two sites in West London to receive this recognition reinforces our position as the destination of choice for Greater West London and the surrounding home counties."

The Chimes Car Park Manager, Kellie Morley said: "I would like to thank all the centre staff for their hard work. Without their commitment to providing the best possible service, our car park would not feel safe, clean or offer a seamless experience for our customers."

Antony Powell, BPA area manager said: "The award of the Park Mark Plus accreditation at The Chimes is thoroughly deserved. The parking facilities are excellent. Well done to everyone at The Chimes who are involved in the good management and operation of the facilities. This award demonstrates the commitment of the centre management team to the principles of the Park Mark Plus initiative."

The Designing Out Crime Officer and Safer Parking Scheme Assessor from the Metropolitan Police expressed their delight that The Chimes, Uxbridge car park has achieved Park Mark Plus accreditation. The assessment showed that security has been thoroughly considered and implemented, with the result being a car park that deserves the added recognition that the Park Mark Plus award provides.
