Parking Company recognised with top car park safety award

A parking company has been recognised for the safety, security and cleanliness of its facility after receiving the prestigious Park Mark® award.

Car Park in Rotherham has received the award by demonstrating that its parking facility has measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime.

Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Beatrice Grouchy de Vornez - Rhodes, CEO of Car Park in Rotherham said:  ‘For car park owners, applying for the "Safer Parking Award" through the "British Parking Association (BPA)" is a smart move to improve safety, boost customer trust, and enhance your reputation. This award isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s a clear signal to your customers that you’re committed to making their parking experience as safe and secure as possible.

The "Safer Parking Award" shows that you've taken real, practical steps like investing in "CCTV", "effective lighting", and "clear signage" to reduce risks. While total security can’t be guaranteed, this award reassures drivers that your facility prioritizes their safety. And when customers feel safe, they’re more likely to return—leading to "repeat business" and "stronger community relationships".

By joining the "BPA", you’re not just gaining recognition—you’re becoming part of a network of "industry leaders" who provide "support, guidance", and resources to help you maintain and improve your car park standards. Whether it’s advice on "best practices" or staying updated on "industry trends", the "BPA" keeps you ahead.

The more operators that join and achieve the "Safer Parking Award", the stronger the industry becomes. It builds "goodwill" and "trust among drivers", enhancing the reputation of all "BPA-accredited car parks".

Ultimately, it’s a win-win—for your business, for customers, and for the parking industry as a whole.

Mark Osmond, Area Manager added: “I am delighted that Car Park in Rotherham has achieved the Park Mark award, demonstrating their hard work and commitment to provide a safe environment for all users.”

Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.
