Park Mark Plus awarded to APH Manchester
APH Manchester has once again demonstrated the highest standards across its parking operations.
The car park managed by APH Manchester achieved the prestigious Park Mark Plus award. This is a fantastic achievement recognising that its parking facilities have measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime in car parks
Building on the well-regarded Safer Parking Scheme’s Park Mark award, Park Mark Plus recognises only the highest quality car parks. Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme, which is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
The award of Park Mark Plus demonstrates that a facility provides police-approved accredited parking and has reached the standards of Park Access and a range of environmental, structural, operational and customer service criteria.
Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.
Nick Counter, Managing Director of Airport Parking and Hotels (APH), commented: "Driving to the airport and parking with a trusted operator is one of the most convenient and dependable ways to reach the airport. However, we recognise that some travellers may feel uneasy about leaving their vehicle while on holiday.
Unfortunately, there are occasional reports in the media about rogue operators, but these cases only represent a very small fraction of air travellers’ experiences. Park Mark and the newly introduced Park Mark Plus accreditation give customers the assurance that they are choosing a reliable car park, allowing them to travel abroad with the confidence that their car is in a safe, secure, and well-managed facility."
Mark Osmond, BPA Area Manager said: “I am thoroughly delighted that APH Manchester has achieved the Park Mark Plus award, demonstrating their hard work and commitment to provide a safe environment for users.”
