Park Mark award earned by The Brewery Shopping Centre in Romford

The Brewery Shopping Centre in Romford, London, has once again demonstrated the highest standards across its parking operations.

Both the surface car park and the multi-storey car park, located at the Brewery Shopping Centre in Romford in east London, have once again achieved the prestigious Park Mark award. Both facilities were recently reassessed by the Metropolitan Police and the British Parking Association. This is a great achievement and recognises that the parking facilities at The Brewery Romford have measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime.

Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop-in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.

Antony Powell, BPA Area Manager, said “I am delighted that both the multi-storey car park and the surface car park at The Brewery shopping centre in Romford have once again retained their Park Mark award. The Brewery are long term supporters of the scheme. It is reassuring to work with the team at the Brewery who very clearly value the principles of crime prevention and working in partnership with the British Parking Association and the Metropolitan Police. This latest award demonstrates  their hard work and commitment to provide a safer environment for all users of the facilities. Congratulations to every member of the Brewery team who are involved in the good management and operation of the parking facilities at the complex.”

Sonny Bhabra, Brewery Car Park Manager, The Brewery Shopping Centre, said, “We are extremely proud to have retained the Park Mark award once again, particularly as the judges recognised the strength of our partnership working and our continued focus on high standards. Their assessments include the management and maintenance of our car park facilities, ensuring appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness, all of which we work hard to maintain. The positive mystery shopper results reflect the dedication of the whole team, while recent refurbishment works and our proactive crime prevention measures — including regular liaison with the Metropolitan Police through weekly crime calls — demonstrate our ongoing commitment to safety. This recognition reinforces our aim to provide a secure, well-managed and welcoming environment for everyone who uses our car parks.”
