Addenbrookes car park 2-2

Park Mark and Park Access awards for Addenbrookes Hospital car park 2

Car Park 2 demonstrates the highest standards in car park management

Addenbrooke’s Car Park 2 managed by Saba has retained its Park Mark Plus and Park Access accreditations. This is a fantastic achievement recognising that its parking facilities have measures that actively deter crime and the fear of crime in car parks.

Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Park Access® is a new accreditation that aims to become recognised throughout the UK for accessible and inclusive parking and electric vehicle charging facilities. The Park Access accreditation is issued to parking facilities that pass a rigorous risk assessment conducted by the British Parking Association.  This award recognises that the parking and driver facilities are accessible to all drivers regardless of their mobility needs.

A Saba spokesperson said: “‘Saba is delighted that Car Park 2 at Addenbrooke’s was the first to achieve and retain the Park Mark Plus Award for the second year running at our 1228 space MSCP facility at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Achieving the very high standards set within the accreditation is a testament to Saba’s investment in providing quality services for NHS staff, patients and visitors and is an absolute credit to the local site management and operational team. Congratulations Car Park 2.”

Colin Sproats, BPA Area Manager said: “I am delighted that Addenbrooke’s Car Park 2 at has achieved the Park Mark, Park Mark Plus and Park Access awards demonstrating their hard work and commitment to providing a safe environment for users.”
