High standards achieved with Park Mark award for The Alhambra Centre

Barnsley facility demonstrates hard work, dedication and commitment to providing a safe environment for users

Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme, which is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association.  Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Car parks with the Park Mark® award can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.

David Probyn, Centre Manager said: ‘The Alhambra Centre continues in its efforts to provide safe affordable parking to its customers. All the staff play a vital role in maintaining the standards that the customers have been accustomed to. Customer loyalty demonstrates satisfaction in the facility and the successful efforts of the management. Thank you to its patrons for the support they give by using the Alhambra Car Park."

Mark Osmond, BPA Area Manager said: “I am delighted that The Alhambra Centre has achieved the Park Mark award. They have demonstrated their hard work, dedication and commitment to providing a safe environment for users.”

Jack Regan, Designing Out Crime Officer said:  “The Alhambra continues to be a parking location of choice for people visiting Barnsley town centre. I have no doubt that this is due to the continuing improvements that are being made by Dave and his Security, Cleaning and Maintenance teams. There are many other parking facilities in and around the Town Centre, but ‘The Alhambra’ appears to be the car park of choice for shoppers and visitors. From a Safety and Security point of view, keep up the great work Dave, and Team. It is appreciated by the police but more importantly, by the people who use your car park”.
