Malcolm Logistics earn five more Park Mark Freight awards

The group have demonstrated the highest standards of safety in their freight operations.

The Malcolm Group has been awarded the Park Mark Freight accreditation across five sites, highlighting a commitment to safety and high standards in their work. The accreditation is an extension of the Safer Parking Scheme, a Police Crime Prevention Initiative to reduce crime in car parks. This latest set of awards is in recognition of five depots in Grangemouth, Paisley, and Penrith, which were assessed and met the highest standards for safety and driver welfare.

Managed by the BPA on behalf of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, each car park undergoes a rigorous assessment by police assessors that have been specially trained to do so. The Safer Parking Scheme introduces a wide range of security measures to car parks, protecting drivers and their property, reducing the risk of theft and other crimes in parking areas; lorry parks and truck stops accredited under the scheme are awarded the Park Mark Freight® certification, indicating they meet the highest standards of safety and security.

The Park Mark Freight award goes beyond the requirements of the base Park Mark award, having additional safety benchmarks and guarantees of the facilities needed for taking breaks during long journeys.

Derek Milne, Malcolm Group Security Manager said: “Safety and security are paramount in freight parking, so having an accreditation that shows our commitment to this safety is a great step forward. The BPA has allowed us to demonstrate the high standards to which we hold ourselves with this award.”

William Clark, BPA Area Manager, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Derek and Police Scotland through the accreditation process for Park Mark Freight Depot which has fully endorsed Malcolm Logistics commitment to and achievement of high standards of security, safety and welfare in freight parking.”
