Lister Hospital Multi-Storey Car Park in Stevenage accredited with Park Mark and Park Access awards
The Lister Hospital MSCP located in Stevenage in Hertfordshire has once again demonstrated the highest standards in its parking operations.
The 11 level multi-storey car park managed by Saba Park Services UK Limited (Saba UK) on behalf of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has once again achieved the prestigious Park Mark® and Park Access awards. This is a great achievement which recognises that the hospital`s main parking facility has measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime within the facility.
Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association (BPA). Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.
The Park Access accreditation is issued to parking facilities that pass a rigorous risk assessment conducted by the BPA . This award recognises that the parking and driver facilities in place are accessible to all drivers regardless of their mobility needs.
Park Access brings together the very best of two accreditations – the Disabled Parking Accreditation and People’s Parking Award to automatically become the UK's industry benchmark for accessible and inclusive parking and electric vehicle charging facilities.
Brett Mattison: Contract Manager, Saba UK said: " I am delighted that the multi-storey car park at Lister Hospital has once again been accredited with the Park Mark® Award along with Park Access. Saba UK supports the BPA, the scheme, and the team here in Stevenage work hard to ensure the facilities are up to a high standard and that the users feel safe when visiting the car park. It is always a pleasure to work alongside the BPA and having their support is welcomed, my team and I look forward to their next visit and being reaccredited”.
