Green Parking Ltd in West London Awarded Recertification of Park Mark Award
The Bell Road car park in Hounslow town centre has once again demonstrated the highest standards in management and parking operations
Following a recent site reassessment survey by the BPA and the Metropolitan Police, the Bell Road car park, which is managed and operated by Green Parking Ltd and is located in Hounslow, West London, has once again achieved the prestigious Park Mark accreditation. This is an impressive achievement and recognises that the Bell Road facilities have measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime.
Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop-in vehicle-related crime of over 80%
Ben Gill, General Manager of Green Parking Ltd said, "We are very pleased that our Bell Road car park in Hounslow has once again received the Park Mark award. We are keen supporters of the Park Mark scheme and always try to follow its principles in all of our car parks across the UK. The award shows that our customers can park in a safer environment. We appreciate the support provided by the Police Assessors. Their valuable knowledge and recommendations help us provide a secure and welcoming parking environment for all.”
Matt Scales, Metropolitan Police Designing Out Crime Officer and Park Mark Assessor, said "Ben Gill from Green Parking has shown that a car park can be turned around for the better by implementing the principles needed to achieve a Park Mark award. Working with the Metropolitan Police and Antony Powell from the BPA they have appropriately implemented advice to turn a run down and hidden car park into a clearly well signed, well-lit open space, with a significant drop in crime. Visitors can feel confident parking and returning to their car without being subject to crime or ASB”.
Antony Powell, BPA Area Manager said, “The recent Park Mark award reaccreditation of the Bell Road car park in Hounslow is thoroughly deserved. The parking facilities are excellent. Very well done to Ben Gill and all the members of his team who are involved in the good management and operation of these facilities. This award demonstrates Green Parking`s commitment to the principles of the Park Mark award initiative.”
