Dacorum Borough Council retains Park Mark awards car parks across the borough
Sites across the borough demonstrate the highest possible standards across their parking operations.
Twenty-five car parks managed by Dacorum borough council have achieved the Park Mark award, an accomplishment that highlights the commitment to safety and high standards that can be found in Dacorum borough council’s work.
The Park Mark award is part of the Safer Parking Scheme. Managed by the BPA on behalf of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, the scheme has each car park undergo rigorous assessment by specially trained police assessors. The Safer Parking Scheme introduces a range of security measures to car parks; facilities accredited under the scheme are awarded the Park Mark® certification, indicating they meet the highest standards of safety and security.
The Park Mark accreditation has been awarded to the following council car parks following recent inspections:
- Durrants Hill car park
- Cowper Road car park
- Lower Kings Road car park
- Bournside car park
- High Street car park
- Queensway car park
BPA Area Manager Antony Powell said "I am delighted that the Dacorum Borough Council car parks at Durrants Hill, Cowper Road, High Street , Lower Kings Road, Bournside and Queensway have once again retained their Park Mark accreditations. These facilities are just six of the twenty-five Dacorum Borough Council car parks that are currently on the Park Mark scheme. These awards demonstrate the Council`s hard work and commitment to provide a safer environment for its visitors. Very well done to everyone involved in the good management of these facilities."
Dan Rodger, Parking Services Manager for Dacorum Borough Council, added "We are extremely pleased that all 25 of Parking Service’s managed car parks have attained the high standards set to achieve the Park Mark® Safer Parking Scheme Award. We are committed to providing a safe environment for our car park customers, and this award proudly on display on every car park information board will reassure them that they are in a safe place to park."
The award of Park Mark demonstrates that these facilities provide police-approved accredited parking, reaching high safety standards – all borough council managed car parks have now achieved this. Residents of Dacorum Borough can feel safe in the knowledge that their parking experience will be a safe one, with facilities that have received this award having seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.
