Cartland Truck Stop 1

Cartland Truck Stop Accredited to the Park Mark Freight Standard

The Southampton-based service has demonstrated the highest standards of safety in its operations

Cartland Truck Stop, a dedicated parking facility designed for lorry drivers located near Southampton docks, has recently earned the Park Mark Freight accreditation, highlighting a commitment to safety and high standards in their work. The accreditation is an extension of the Safer Parking Scheme, a Police Crime Prevention Initiative to reduce crime in car parks.

Managed by the BPA on behalf of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, each car park undergoes a rigorous assessment by police assessors that have been specially trained to do so. The Safer Parking Scheme introduces a wide range of security measures to car parks, protecting drivers and their property, reducing the risk of theft and other crimes in parking areas; lorry parks and truck stops accredited under the scheme are awarded the Park Mark Freight® certification, indicating they meet the highest standards of safety and security.

The Park Mark Freight award goes beyond the requirements of the base Park Mark award, having additional safety benchmarks and guarantees of the facilities needed for taking breaks during long journeys. Cartland Truck Stop offers a variety of services including parking, television access, facilities for authorised dangerous goods, guarded and lighted parking options, paid parking, and the accommodation of refrigerated trucks. Security features include video monitoring for added peace of mind. Amenities available on-site include cash and credit card payment options, electronic toll collection, a picnic area, restoration services, toilets, Wi-Fi, and showers. The parking capacity (currently 137 bays) is suitable for multiple trucks.

Steve Cropp, Company Director, said "We at Cartland Garage Services are thrilled and very proud to announce that our Cartland Truck Stop has been awarded the esteemed Park Mark Freight accreditation.
