BPA accreditation is awarded to Ayr Central
Ayr Central Car Park shares pride at receiving prestigious Park Mark Plus and Park Access accreditations
The Ayr Central Car Park has recently been awarded the Park Mark Plus and Park Access accreditations.
Park Mark Plus recognises only the highest quality car parks that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment carried out by the Police and British Parking Association. The assessment includes a range of structural, environmental, operational and customer service criteria whilst also checking appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness which actively deter crime and create a safe environment for all users of the car park facility.
Park Access® is a brand new accreditation that aims to become recognised throughout the whole of the UK for accessible and inclusive parking and electric vehicle charging facilities. Park Access will enable everyone, regardless of their accessibility needs, to identify car parks and facilities, that they can use with ease.
The Park Access accreditation is issued to parking facilities that pass a rigorous risk assessment conducted by the British Parking Association. This award recognises that the parking and driver facilities in place are accessible to all drivers regardless of their mobility needs.
Park Access brings together the very best of two accreditations – the Disabled Parking Accreditation and People’s Parking Award to automatically become the UK's industry benchmark for accessible and inclusive parking and electric vehicle charging facilities.
Kevin Lang, Centre Manager at Ayr Central said: "This recognition is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and creating an environment that is welcoming to all. It demonstrates our dedication to delivering high standards in safe parking facilities and also acknowledges the car park's provisions for disabled visitors, ensuring that accessible spaces and on-site support are designed and conveniently located to cater for their needs.”
William Clark BPA Area Manager said: “I am delighted that Ayr Central has achieved the Park Mark Plus and Park Access award, demonstrating their hard work and commitment to provide a safe and accessible environment for all users.”
